Abridge raises $150 million for AI-enhanced EHR integration

Abridge’s generative AI technology transcribes patient-doctor interactions and documents these visits into electronic health records (EHRs). This innovation aims to alleviate clinicians’ administrative burdens amid ongoing healthcare labor shortages. Abridge raised $150 million in a Series C round in February.

Its partnership with EHR giant Epic could help the startup gain more traction with hospitals.

Marisa Bass from Primary Venture Partners noted, “Abridge has the necessary ingredients to support provider workflows and improve patient communication.”

Air Space Intelligence provides an AI-powered operating system for aerospace and defense, helping make better, faster, and more data-driven decisions for complex air operations. Renata Quintini from Renegade Partners stated, “Their platform helps domestic airlines and major U.S. carriers in mission-critical capacities.” The company is also expanding to larger-scale deployments with the Department of Defense (DoD).

AliveCor assists people in managing their heart health remotely through connected devices like personal electrocardiograms (ECGs). In June, AliveCor launched an FDA-approved AI capable of detecting 35 cardiac conditions, including heart attacks. Alex Morgan from Khosla Ventures said, “This compact device accelerates decision-making around heart attacks.”

Braintrust offers an infrastructure stack for enterprise AI development, aiding companies in evaluations, logging, data management, and prompting.

It also provides access to top AI models via an API. Braintrust is critical infrastructure for leading tech companies like Zapier, Coda, Airtable, and Instacart, enhancing AI accuracy by over 30%.

Abridge technology integrates with EHRs

Cake AI offers a library of ready-to-install components designed for generative AI, simplifying the deployment of AI infrastructure. Tobias Citron from Primary said, “Cake is helping companies do the messy work of deploying AI.” As one of the fastest-growing companies in the Primary portfolio, it helps streamline complex AI tools and services. Clay assists teams in enriching data, automating personalized outreach, and executing go-to-market (GTM) strategies.

Clay’s new funding round values it at $500 million. Aileen Lee from Cowboy Ventures noted, “It consolidates multiple expensive data sources and custom code into one efficient platform.”

Cranium ensures the security and compliance of AI and generative AI systems. Initially developed within KPMG’s startup studio, Cranium raised $25 million last year.

Kyle York from York IE commented, “They emerged from stealth and secured significant funding.”

Connect the Dots is an AI-powered relationship management platform that aids sales teams by generating warm introductions from AI-mapped networks. Scott Beechuk from Norwest Venture Partners emphasized that relationship-based selling is the future of B2B sales. The platform provides ROI within the first month of use.
