The American Bankruptcy Institute, founded in 1982, is the country’s biggest multi-disciplinary, non-partisan organization which is dedicated to research and education on all issues relating to insolvency. THE American Bankruptcy Institute was founded in order to give Congress as well as the general public unbiased analysis of bankruptcy issues.
Members of the American Bankruptcy Institute include over 11,500 attorneys, judges, lenders, professors, turnaround specialists, accountants and other bankruptcy professionals that provide an environment for the exchange of information and ideas on the subject of bankruptcy. The Mission of the institute is to provide information to its members as well as journalists, Congress and the public. To this end the American Bankruptcy Institute is involved in many different educational and research activities, as well as in the creation and production of several publications for the insolvency practitioner and the public alike.
