At last a decent meta classifieds search engine! Yakaz.com is a franco/english startup which searches top classifieds and listing sources in the internet (eBay, the local versions of CraigsList, Backpage, Kijiji and the like) and searches them simultaneously for jobs, cars, homes, and other miscellanea stuff.
Yakaz.com boasts an impressive number of 500+ indexed sites, some of which are very popular and active; this means that an average of 500,000 new ads are being posted every week. Note that using this service is free but mildly addictive, because the links are never broken, and you don’t need to jump from one site to the next to find the stuff you are looking for, plus since the Yakaz.com’s search results page presents not only a small description and a link to the original classified post, but a small picture, so you don’t need to go back and forth a gazillion times. One of the many great bits about Yakaz.com is that you are not nagged to sign in or anything of the sort: the site automatically remembers your past searches and displays them in the homepage –which is as detached as Google’s— so that if you wish to ignore them and go about your business you can start searching and don’t see the stuff until the next time you visit the site. Yakaz.com has only recently launched its mobile platform.
