The Eastern Virginia Medical School serves the region of Southern Virginia, the main campus is located in Norfolk which also includes the Sentara Norfolk General hospital and the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters. The campus facilities include a medical science library, various clinical offices, educational and administrative offices, the Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine, the Pediatric Research Center, and the Strelitz Diabetes Center.
EVMS does not own a teaching hospital, instead the medical school works in partnership with hospitals, physicians, and clinics throughout the region. This provides students and residents with a broad base of clinical experience. The school offers other programs in addition to the M.D. program including Biomedical Sciences, and Health Care and Public Health. Prospective students will find all the necessary information on curriculum, admissions, academic calendar, special programs, library resources, faculty, and other important information for anyone wanting to get into a career in medicine.
