Elevator Pitch:

Donde Fashion is “the most intuitive women’s fashion search engine in the world.”

Why It’s A Killer Startup:

I was invited to be a bridesmaid in the wedding of a very good friend last summer. Far from the Bridezilla stereotype, this super-chill bride-to-be told us that the only requirement for our dresses was that they had to be grey. That was it! No length requirements; nothing about material; she didn’t even care what shade of grey it was.

So I was like, this is great! Finding a cute grey dress will be easy, right? Wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. I started by going into every single shop in town, to no avail. Then I hit the internet, scouring website after website in search of the perfect grey dress. I finally grabbed one that was possibly going to be a size too small, in a last-minute moment of desperation.

While that story has a happy ending — the dress did, in fact, fit — the whole process was such a drag. And it’s not just future bridesmaids who go through the trials and tribulations of not being able to find the perfect shirt/dress/jeans. Basically any woman who has ever shopped has been there at some point.

Starting this month, women looking for bridesmaid dresses and more will be able to turn to Donde Fashion. The new app, which launched on August 20, allows users to pick out the features that they’re looking for in an item. Using only visuals, women can specify exactly what kind of neckline, hemline, color, etc. they’re looking for.

The app includes thousands of items from top retailers like Banana Republic, Zara, J. Crew, and Chloe (all of which I looked at when I was searching, BTW) as well as other brands you probably haven’t even thought to check out. Their goal is to make shopping more fun, easier, and less frustrating for women around the world.
